System of "groups of relatable diagnosis" categorizes hospitalised cases into DGR-groups and enables to analyse and compare medical institutions that provide secondary care. In other words, it is a system that categorizes hospitalisation into defined groups based on similar costs of health care reimbursement according to certain rules. DRG-system is an objective and trasparent mechanism which improves the management process and financing of provided health care. It essentialy contributes to ensure more equitable financing of secondary health care as well as ability to compare effectivity of hospitals.
