Newsletter October 2024

A summary of the latest information on the activities of the CKS DRG.

List of medical procedures

In the List of medical procedures this year, in cooperation with the main experts of the Ministry of Health and representatives of professional societies, we have managed to completely revise 2 areas, namely the area of urology and spondylo-surgery procedures. Based on feedback from system users, we have added procedures that were missing in daily clinical practice as well as more innovative minimally invasive and technologically advanced procedures, such as robotic surgery. We also expanded the list to include procedures for the purpose of tracking and assessing potential attributable items for drugs and HAIs. We identified and excluded a number of duplicate and obsolete procedures. We continued to add inclusions and exclusions for clear and accurate reporting. With the same purpose in mind, we added a List of Anatomical Localization Codes and associated vessels in the Explanations section . We also created a 2024-2025 procedure converter to make updating information systems and tracking changes as easy as possible.

Data interface

The Steering Committee approved the data interface for the 2024 annual benefit. The changes were mainly in section 3.2.4 Summary Data and section 3.2.5 Medical Sites. Additionally, new entries were added to the cc_90008 SND codebook. Terms and their definitions have also been added. The texts describing the content of the DR entries have been clarified. The approved version of the data interface is available on our website.

Attributable items and new technologies

New attributable items have been incorporated into the attributable items that have been evaluated over the DRG data. The new imputables were mainly incorporated in drugs and special medical supplies. In addition to the above, we were able to roll out a pilot version of add-on items for new technologies, of which 2 drugs were evaluated and incorporated as add-on items in the Case Fee Catalogue.

We are working on the release of...

  • Definitional Guide,
