A summary of the latest information on the activities of the CKS DRG.

Decree on reimbursement

The CKS DRG worked intensively in the first quarter of 2025 to prepare for the long-awaited introduction of DRGs into direct reimbursement. As of April 1, a new decree will be in effect that will introduce mandatory reimbursement for 15% of inpatient healthcare production - mainly deliveries, newborns, knee and hip replacements, selected oncology and cardiology hospitalizations. The decree is currently in the process of being published in order to be effective as of April 1, 2025, you can follow its process HERE.

Guideline for hospitalisation cases

The CKS DRG has issued guidance on HP lasting less than 24 hours. The guidance focuses primarily on situations where the patient is discharged home or transferred to another healthcare facility. The guideline aims to clarify the classification and reimbursement of such cases and the procedure in accordance with current legislation. Diagrams for the process of allocating time and labour costs in the DRG circuit

In cooperation with experts, we have prepared diagrams that visualise the process of allocating time and costs in the DRG circuit and, together with the already existingexcel tool, are intended to be used by HC providers as an aid in assessing the correctness of the allocation of time and salary costs in the preparation of the annual levy. In conjunction with the publication of the document on the CKS DRG website in the Documents/Education section, an online information session was held on February 11, 2025 for PHCPs to present the charts.

Steering Committee and Working Groups

Due to the update of Law 581/2004, a new Steering Committee has been established and its activities are regulated by the statutes available on our website. The functioning of the working groups established by the CKS DRG has also been modified, in the new regime there will be 3 working groups - medical-analytical, economic-data and working group on financing.

Approaching deadlines...

• The deadline for submitting proposals for changes for next year via feedback is 31 March 2025.

• Validation and submission of 2024 annual benefits are available on the CKS DRG portal from 10/1/2025.

• The deadline for submission of the regular annual benefit for 2024 is 30.4.2024 according to the legislation in force (Act No. 578/2004 Coll.) and the deadline for submission of the corrective benefit is 20.6.2025.
