CENTRE FOR DRG CLASSIFICATION THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH is looking for
ECONOMIC ANALYST
Improving the functioning of Slovak hospitals. We are looking for a colleague who enjoys analyzing economic data, communicating with economic representatives in hospitals, looking for efficiency and effectiveness in hospitals, costing and much more that you can think of in connection with hospital economics.
ABOUT US
The team of the Centre for DRG Classification System at the Ministry of Health is responsible for the proper management and financing of inpatient healthcare provided in all hospitals in the country.
WHAT IS DRG
The DRG system is an objective and transparent mechanism for improving the way inpatient healthcare is managed and financed.
WHAT WE DO
Primarily, we set up the DRG system so that public resources are distributed fairly and efficiently among hospitals based on reported healthcare. In other words, we analyze economic and medical data from all hospitals, defining clear and transparent rules and processes for the distribution of funds. We collaborate with the biggest experts in the country.
JOB SUMMARY
- Communication
- Communication with economic staff, accountants, hospital controlling staff and healthcare professionals
- Process mapping and preparation of reporting methodologies
- Preparation of technical documents for changes in costing
- improving the economic data acquisition system
- Analysing data from hospitals
- analysis of data from healthcare accounting systems
- follow-up of hospital data with regard to compliance with the methodologies
- control and validation of economic data
- analysis of the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of hospitals
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
University degree in economics, finance
- we are looking for a passionate economist (2-5 years of experience in finance, controlling, auditing or consulting is an advantage)
- Understanding of economic context is important for analysing financial statements and economic documents of hospitals
- Excellent communication skills, a proactive, investigative approach to obtaining information from our hospital partners and in professional group discussions,
- the ability to analyse the inputs received, confront them with reality and implement solutions to adjust reporting methodologies for hospitals
- curiosity and willingness to learn
- previous experience and insight in the healthcare sector (healthcare models, payment mechanisms, DRGs...) is an advantage
- advanced use of Excel (functions, contingency tables...)
